POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Minnesota Language Connection is seeking a detailed oriented professional to work as an Interpreter.
The successful candidate must be able to interpret in the three modes of interpretation: sight, consecutive, and simultaneous in medical, social and legal settings in person or via a telecommunicator device.

The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of medical, social and judiciary staff.

The Minnesota language Connection Inc. offers an excellent work atmosphere. Hours of work can be set to meet the needs of the interpreters.

Positions will be filled based on candidate qualifications and available positions:

Amharic Interpreter

Arabic Interpreter

Chinese (Cantonese) Interpreter

Chinese (Mandarin) Interpreter

Hmong Interpreter

Karen Interpreter

Khmer Interpreter

Korean Interpreter

Laotian Interpreter

Oromo Interpreter

Russian Interpreter

Somali Interpreter

Spanish Interpreter

Thai Interpreter

Turkish Interpreter

Vietnamese Interpreter



REQUIREMENTS

Applicants to MLC are evaluated in each of these six assessment areas:

1.         Individual Interviews

2.         Interpreting Ability/Bilingual Fluency

3.         Education/Experience

4.         Medical Terminology

5.         Cultural Competency

6.         Code of Ethics


 
AUTHORIZATION TO WORK: US Citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

SPECIAL NOTE: Newly hired employees must agree to a background check and sign Confidentiality, Code of Ethics, Standards and Responsibilities and Non-Compete Agreements.
